Can you eat packed lunch/takeaway food at Vrak?
Vrak - Museum of Wrecks cannot offer a place to eat packed meals indoors. In nice weather, there are plenty of spots outside the museum building on Djurgården for a picnic. We recommend that you plan your meals before or after your visit to the museum. You can also eat in Vrak's restaurant. If you are a larger group, you can book a table. Is there a restaurant or café at the museum?
Mackverket at Vrak is open every day that the museum is open. On the menu, you will find delicious grilled sandwiches, salads, and soup. There are also buns and other pastries for those who want to enjoy a fika. What are the opening hours Vrak - Museum of Wrecks?
Vrak is open every day from 10 AM to 5 PM, and on Wednesdays, the museum is open from 10 AM to 8 PM all year round. Between June 1 and August 31, Vrak is open from 10 AM to 6 PM. The museum is closed during Midsummer, Christmas, and New Year. See the current opening hours here.
Vrak - Museum of Wreck and the Vasa Museum - what is the difference?
Vrak - Museum of Wrecks is a maritime archaeological museum that opened in the autumn of 2021, telling the story of the wrecks that remain on the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The museum features several exhibitions about wrecks from the Viking Age to the present day. At Vasamuseet, you can see the ship Vasa and exhibitions about, for example, shipbuilding in the 17th century, the sinking of Vasa, the recovery of Vasa in the 1960s, and the subsequent conservation. Vasamuseet is located about a five-minute walk from Vrak at Galärvarvet in Stockholm.
Can I buy Tickets on site?
It is possible to buy entrance Tickets at the museum. Vrak is a cashless museum. At the entrance, shop, and restaurant, you can easily pay with a card or Swish.
Do companions get free admission?
Companions for a guest with a disability have free entry and should bring documentation. This applies to both visible and invisible disabilities. We recommend that guests/families with any neuropsychiatric disabilities contact us at the booking office to register their visit and consult with us on how to make the visit as enjoyable as possible. Find your way to Vrak - Museum of Wrecks
Vrak - Museum of Wrecks is located at Djurgårdsstrand 17 on Djurgården in Stockholm. You can reach the museum in several different ways: by bus, tram, ferry, bicycle, or on foot. Please feel free to visit our website to learn how to find your way to Vrak.
Parking at Vrak
Vrak does not have its own parking lot. There is a small parking area just to the right after Djurgårdsbron, between the Vasa Museum and Junibacken. Outside the entrance of Vrak, there is accessible parking for visitors with a disability permit.
How long does a visit to Vrak - Museum of Wrecks take?
We usually recommend at least 90 minutes for a visit to Vrak.
Does Vrak have an audio guide?
Vrak - Museum of Wrecks offers a free audioguide in several different languages through its website. You need to bring a smartphone or a tablet and listen to the audioguide on it, using the museum's free Wi-Fi. We recommend that our visitors bring headphones, as Vrak does not have any headphones available for loan.
Guided tours at Vrak
Vrak offers public tours for individual visitors in Swedish and English. The guided tour lasts about 20 minutes and is included in the entrance fee.
